Report Card

This is how i think our team fared in World T20 Qualifier

Basanta Regmi:  8/10 Crisis Man didn’t disappoint his captain when he was thrown the ball. He was “go-to-man” for his team weather  it was  runs that needs to be contained or  it was partnership  that needed to be broken. Highest wicket taker for his team with 14 scalp with an excellent economy of 6.09.

Sharad Veshwakar: 9/10  Found his form  in the latter part of the tournament. It was Veshwakar and khadka who had to shield the team from the crime committed by top order batsman. Showed us good presence of cricketing mind . Score sixes at his will.  Knows  how to level score with that knock of 23 from 6 balls after he had conceded 30 runs in an over bowling earlier.

Paras Khadka : 9/10 Talisman, Captain cool, Messiah ….. you will run out of superlative if you start to praise him for his on field achievement. 2nd highest wicket taker and 2nd highest run scorer for Nepal.  For my recokoning it was his blistering knock of 54 in just 31 balls that injected the belief in his team mate that they can chase down any target if they have wickets in hand. He is best thing ever happened to Nepalese cricket by miles

J Mukhiya:  7/10 With 11 wicket he is joint 2nd highest wicket taker along with Paras Khadka. Got the breakthrough when his team needed. His economy rate was on higher side for a opening bowler and he also needs to increase on his bowling speed.

S Bhandari: 5/10 Knock against PNG where he score 51 in mere 23 deliveries was highlight of this series for him. Had a forgettable tournament apart from that.

S khakurel: 6/10 Highest  run accumulator but his runs comes at a cost for Nepal. His lack of ability of scoring quick runs means there was more pressure at the middle order batsman. He need to improve his gloveswork  as well.

Shakti Gauchan: 2/10 Weakest link in Nepalese Team so far. Never have he been so ineffective. 3 wickets in 9 matches from your premium tweaker is not good enough. He must learn from his mistake and rectify it fast if we want to make any impact on slow turning pitches of Bangladesh.

Amrit Bhhartai : 3/10 Got opportunities but could not capatilizes on it. 2 wicket in 5 matches with economy rate of more then 7.

G Malla: 6/10 was good support for parash and Sharad but failed to capitalize in his starts and throw his wicket away at crucial junction of the match.

Sagar pun: 4/10  Though he was handy with his right arm off break,Ten match, 113 runs with average of 14.12 and strike rate of 98 not good enough for a batsman who have opened inning most of the time he has find his place in playing 11.

P Aaire: 2/10 Could not justify his selection  with his performance. 34 runs with average of 8.50 in 8 matches are not good by any standard for a batsman who opens the innings.

A karna: 6/10  Though  this southpaw only played handful of match he was impressive with his left arm medium pace.  Economy rate of 5.43  is Gold in this kind of tournament. He is still young and does have age in his side to learn more.

A Mandal:  5/10 Could not get many opportunities but justified his selection on the last match with nice little cameo
